Anthony Albanese Cracks Rishi Sunak, brings Ashes to NATO Summit.
There was a funny banter between the Australian Prime Minister Albo (Anthony Albanese) and the British Prime Minister (Rishi Sunak) on Tuesday 11th July 2023 at the NATO Summit in Vilnius, Lithuania. Albo brought the Ashes rivalry to the table after the meeting with his British counter part. Anthony Albanese Cracks Rishi Sunak by presenting Rishi with a print out of Ashes result to date after 3 test matches showing 2 (Aus) – 1 (England). He also showed a print out of Johnny Bairstow’s well known controversial stumping in the second test match.
The British PM Rishi was also quick to show the photo of Mark Wood and Chris Woakes after the final winning run was scored in the third test match.
The most funny part was the response from Rishi, “I’m sorry I didn’t bring my sandpaper with me”.
This was in reference to the infamous 2018 ball-tampering scandal that involved then Captain Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft.

Both PM’s supported their teams and at the same time they discussed other key matters related to progress of AUKUS, technology transfer and current economic challenges faced by both nations, as well as the Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement.
